Halloween's origins can be traced back to the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain, which was held on November 1 in contemporary calendars. It was believed that on that day, the souls of the dead returned to their homes, so people dressed in costumes and lit bonfires to ward off spirits.

It is at the beginning of the observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed. In popular culture, the day has become a celebration of horror and is associated with the macabre and the supernatural.

Halloween in the Bible The Bible does not mention Halloween as such, for obvious reasons, since the festivity developed centuries after it was written. However, it is related to themes derived from Halloween, such as death, darkness, and spiritual or otherworldly forces.
